Stella McCartney’s latest fragrance, L.I.L.Y has launched exclusively at Selfridges on the 26th of January. McCartney says of the fragrance name - “It makes me think of my Mum. Her nickname from my Dad was L.I.L.Y, Linda I love you.”

The scent was created by perfumer, Jacques Cavallier, who also worked on the original Stella fragrance. Cavallier says “Stella wanted a fragrance that redefined the extremely natural and fresh image of lily of the valley. To create more depth, we infused it with notes of truffle from the Perigord region of France, adding a diffuse, caressing texture.”. Notes include truffle, lily of the valley and oakmoss.

A Quintessential Start in London

Very few places have the luxury to transport you through years and countries simultaneously successfully and yet, keep their independence. When I entered Start, located in the up and coming Shoreditch (42-44 Rivington Street) I was stunned by the cunning and masterly orchestrated mix of elements: neon lighting and antiques pulled together by bare brick walls. Silence reigned in the store, and music wouldn’t have added to the atmosphere. It was up to my imagination and what I could see there to be transported through eras of fashion and design.

All of the sudden, I felt like I had been transposed to Tribeca or the Meat Packing District in this full fledge art gallery store and yet I felt the uniqueness of London everywhere around me, starting with European antique jewellery cabinets. A place in between here and there. It took a black cab driving by on my way out for me to be brought back to London, and out of this magic no man’s land.

EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW AT CORLETTE S/S12 COLLECTION

Last week I took a trip to Old Brompton Road, to Corlette’s showroom. The lovely Fiorina Benveniste-Schuler, CEO & Founder gave me a warm welcome into her girly universe of gloves, belts and more. I had the chance to take a peek at the current collection as well as a few pieces from Spring/Summer 2012 which is absolutely divine. Channeling a very romantic appeal with lace flowers (as seen below) and introducing brand new colors such as a yellow. The Trend Report is proud to unleash for the first time, Fiorina’s latest addition to the Corlette brand: leather cuffs. “I’ve wanted to do bracelets for a long time and next season seemed to be the perfect timing”, says Fiorina. The tribal embroidery is a wink to Proenza Schouler and Isabel Marant. I’m completely smitten. I love the idea of leather cuffs not to mention that a little pop of color is always welcome!

THE TREND REPORT VISITS THE H&M SHOWROOM IN LONDON

On Friday afternoon I had the immense opportunity to pass through the doors of H&M’s showroom in London. As I entered the office I was stunned by how amazing they were and secretly imagined how cool it would be to intern/work there. Neon and bright colors drew me into the showroom space where the stunning spring 2012 collection was displayed. It was certainly very refreshing to finally see some colors on the racks. H&M is one of my favorite high-street brands, I know I can always count on them when it comes to looking sleek and trendy at an affordable price. Next season is all about florals and brights with some Celine-esque inspirations mixed with a dash of Christopher Kane’s color palette but remaining loyal to the H&M aesthetic : minimalist chic.

In addition, I’d like to add that I was also lucky enough to take a peek (no photos allowed) at the Versace cruise collection which included some adorable denim mini shorts in white and lilac along with printed bikinis and beach bags. And last but not least, if you haven’t heard already, H&M is collaborating with MARNI for an exclusive capsule collection in March 2012 - here’s another reason why you should love H&M. I already started to compile a list of the things that have caught my eye and that I am probably going to purchase in the new year! Let me walk you through them…
